Cinco de Mayo Moves into the Mainstream
In America, Cinco de Mayo is one of the best-known Mexican holidays. In fact, it is probably celebrated
with more gusto in the U.S. than it is in Mexico. This is not to say it's insignificant south of the border
- on the contrary, it's one of the country's most important non-religious holidays.

The Juarez Murders
From El Paso, Texas, a glance across the border tells a deceptive story. The neighboring city, Cuidad Juarez, appears to be
a well-functioning boom town, home to 2 million people and an industry dominated by maquiladoras - factories owned by U.S.
companies such as Lear, Dupont, and General Electric. From the inside, however, Juarez is a city where corruption, drug
trafficking, and crime run rampant and justice is silenced by fear.
