La Voz Latina's Final Edition
La Voz Latina Newspaper October 2002 ~ December 2003
With the release of this, our 15th edition, La Voz Latina Newspaper will go out of
circulation indefinately. Since August of 2002, when we began this project, we've dedicated a
great deal of time and energy to establishing the county's first Latino-oriented publication.
Now the time has come to move on to other projects and other objectives.

Con la publicación de esta, nuestra 15a. edición, el periódico La Voz Latina, dejará de
circular indefinidamente. Desde Agosto del 2002, cuando iniciamos este proyecto, hemos
dedicado mucho tiempo y esfuerzo al establecimiento del primer periódico latino del condado.
Ahora, ha llegado el momento de avanzar hacia otros objetivos y proyectos.

Vigilantes on the Border
The fact that Latinos come to the U.S. illegally is nothing new. Throughout its history,
America has depended on the labor provided by immigrants from the south, both legal and
illegal. Our government has provided legal means for these immigrants to work, in programs
like the Bracero Program (1942 - 1965) which provided temporary work visas for Mexican
farmworkers.
